San Francisco Assemblyman Mark Leno enjoys a lunch with Ann and author, classicist, theologian, historian, and vulcanologist Stephen L. Harris; at the Esquire Grill in Sacramento, January 20, 2005. Assemblyman Leno's Marriage Equality Act, AB 849, made history when it passed the State Legislature in August, 2005. At lunch with San Francisco, CA, Assemblyman Mark Leno, author of AB 1967, the Marriage License Non-Discrimination Act, and Chair of the CA State Assembly Select Committee on LGBT Families. Mark saw 15 of his bills signed into law in 2004, and amended the California Family Code to define marriage as between 'two persons' instead of 'between a man and a woman.' At the Esquire Grill, Sacramento, January 20, 2005 On February 18, 2005, at Sacramento State University, a campus memorial service was held to honor Ann's late beloved former boss, Dean William J. Sullivan, Jr. 'Dean Bill' is pictured in the photograph behind her. Ann was one of several speakers offering their remembrances of a fine man and a dear friend. A reunion with dear friend and fellow pulp pioneer Victor Banis, whose memoirs will be published later this year. Victor is the author of many much-loved pulp classics, including The Why Not and That Man From C.A.M.P. March 13, 2005
